Quodlibet was founded in 1994 by Marilyn Alletzhauser and has been presenting concerts ever since (except for a brief respite during COVID.) Julie Smith took over the reins when Marilyn retired in 2014 and has led the group since then.

The group specializes in music of the Renaissance, written mostly in the 1500's in Europe. These songs were either based on the latin church mass, or other texts from the Bible and called motets, or on secular poems and called madrigals. The pieces are performed without accompaniment and can be in any language, commonly Italian, Latin, French, Spanish, English or even Hebrew.

Quodlibet is a 501(c) 3 organization and contributions to the group are tax-deductible.
